Louis Prima – I Wan’na Be Like You (Theme from The Jungle Book)
Who still remember The Jungle Book? I used to have the VHS, and man I really liked the movie. I used to watch it all day long and this song is one of my favorites.
Scorpions – Still Loving You
Yeah balls. Classic slow rock song. One of my favorite songs from Scorpions. My uncle is a big fan of Scorpions, always play it in his taxi other than the likes of Santana and Led Zeppelin. That’s how I come to like this song. Well, pretty nice to hear to in the morning with a cup of hot green tea.
Mood Indigo by Brett aka Moondoggie .
I was looking for a guitar version of Duke Ellington’s Mood Indigo and I came across this one user. I think his interpretation of Mood Indigo is so different and nice. I just kept logging back to youtube to hear it again and again for the whole of today.
This is a old webcast mix I put together close to a year ago. For reasons I’m not quite sure, I’m feeling this tonight.
Webcast: My Damn Playlist – Dreaming the Dream Home (Session 1)
Mixed by M.Rizal
Note: Pretty mellow mix. Listen preferably on a rainy morning or during a long road trip. Goes well with orange or apple juice too.
Tracklist:
Gerhana Ska Cinta – Terpesona
Mocca - Me And My Boyfriend
Rooney - Daisy Duke
Blur - Coffee & TV
Hattan feat Dia Fadila - Tangisan Marhaenis
Hujan – Pagi Yang Gelap
This band is so lepak. Orang seme sebok buat lagu cinta dgn matair dorang buat lagu pasal rindu abang pula. Itu yang best. Itu baru feel. Haha. This song reminds me of my childhood you know? Their lyrics, actually. When I was a kid, probably, primary 2 or 3, during the June holidays my cousins from JB and all, we used to get together at my Grandma’s place. During one of the time when we can’t play that 8 bit nintendo console because maybe baru masuk waktu zohor or asar. We found this really old guitar tong in the store and we brought out to our room and started strumming like we know how to play it lah. Feeling-feeling, gitu. Then it got fun, we took pencil and paper out and started writing a song about how Pak Ngah Beli Slippar Baru. It was so ridiculous beyond anything ever imagined. Then grandma couldn’t take all the noise so she took the guitar away and threw away that piece of paper. Hahaha. : p
I wish I could feel again like I was in that age. When nothing really matters – it’s all about just having good fun. I think that’s what Hujan managed to do. They can feel sincerely like a kid, which is a brilliant thing.
And oh, this is a good song for sing-alongs! Especially fun during road trips.

Bob Dylan – Things Have Changed
Apologies, can’t embed this video here. So just click on the link, it will still work. This song is so beautifully written. And oh, Bob Dylan and I, we share the same birth date. Geminis write good music, you know? : P
Lyrics after the jump.
Eagles – Waiting in the Weeds
Thanks to my dad’s influence again, I’ve become a Eagles fan. But it’s quite a while already. They’re really talented and inspired musicians. There’s something about these classic rock stars that they have so much soul, you know? It’s very inspiring listening to them. Maybe because they don’t really care anymore, they’re in their own world and music is their god. Haha. I don’t know. This song is beautiful in so many ways and its off their latest, 2007 release, Long Road Out of Eden. So this is a new song, after a pretty long break.
Modjo – Lady
This is a beautiful song for a long road trip. Picture you driving a car, with a bunch of mates on the back, your girl on your side, and this song on the stereo. I guarantee it will keep you on the road for hours! Such a nice uplifting feel.
The Shadows – Apache
My dad used to have this Cliff Richard & The Shadows CD in his car. It’s quite a nice compilation but this one instrumental song, always got my attention. It’s so dusty yet very detailed and has this western-feel. Something you’d listen from a bunch of tribesman during a spiritual dance ritual around a bonfire. But it’s really nice during long road trips to Mersing especially when it’s terribly sunny. Makes me feel like an outlaw, you know? Haha.
If you’re quite a Hip Hop head, then you might find the tune familiar because many early hip hop groups love to sample from this track, like this one by SugarHill Gang.
Give it a listen!
