Eric Clapton is a legend. This song is originally from his former band, Derek & The Dominos. This song is inspired by a classic middle eastern love tale, Layla and Majnun. It’s basically about this tragic love tale about a guy (Qays nicknamed Majnun (Madman)) who is madly in love with a girl named Layla. But someone else already asked for Layla’s hand in marriage and she soon got married. Qays went in exile, in time, he gone insane and die lonely. I personally love the story, and this song captured Majnun’s emotions nicely. and it probably meant a lot for Eric too. He, like Majnun, was also going through quite a series of emotional situations.

So back to the song – I like this downtempo, unplugged version of the song. Very laid back, and I feel it better at this time. For the hopeless romantics, this song is for you. Turn the lights down low, and let this song take you on a ride.
